Rules and Regulations

The Official Rules and Regulations of the Gas Card Contest, which are binding, are below.

These are the official rules and regulations (“Official Rules”) for the contest known as the “Gas Card Contest” (the “Contest”) sponsored by the Eastern Regional Service Board (the “Sponsor”). By entering the Contest, the Entrant (as hereinafter defined) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. The start and end dates and times, and any other information relevant to entering, participating or winning are identified below.

1. Eligibility

Subject to these Official Rules, the Contest is open to all persons owning a permanent of seasonal property within the area serviced by the Eastern Regional Service Board, who complete the online survey at goodneighbours.ca or by phone.

The Entrant must be age of majority. There is no fee to enter the Contest. No purchase is necessary.

2. Disqualification/Ineligibility

The Contest is not open to employees/contractors of the Sponsor, or such employee’s immediate family (mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and/or legal or common-law spouse) or persons with whom they are domiciled (whether related to the employee or not).

If you do not qualify as an Entrant, or are otherwise in breach of these Official Rules, you will not be entitled to a Prize (as hereinafter defined) even if your name is drawn. In the event it is determined that an Entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these Official Rules, the Entrant will be disqualified.

3. How to Enter the Contest

During the period starting on October 25, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. (NST) and ending on December 13, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. (NST) (the “Contest Period”), an Entrant may enter the Contest by completing the online survey (“Entry”) to goodneighbours.ca (the “Contest Page”) or by requesting and completing a phone survey. There is a limit of one (1) Entry per Entrant for the Contest.

The representative of selected winners will be required to provide proof of age and residency.

4. Prizes

Five (5) gas gift cards (“Prizes”), totaling $500.00, are available to be won. The Prizes will consist of five (5) Prizes, each in the amount of $100.00, to be awarded based on random selection from the Entrants.

5. Draws

From all entrants, five (5) will be selected by random draw to determine the winners of five (5) Prizes in accordance with the Prize Schedule set out as section 4, above. The odds of being selected for the additional cash Prizes are dependent on the total number of Entrants/Entries. Draw date, December 14, 2018.

6. Awarding of Prizes

Each Prize winner will be contacted via the email or phone number provided through the goodneighbours.ca survey either online or by phone. Winners will be contact within five (5) business days of the Draw Date to be notified of the award. Prizes will be issued via mail to an address provided by the entrant.

If selected winners do not respond within fifteen (15) business days of initial notification by email or phone, the Prize shall be forfeited and Sponsor has the right, at its sole discretion, to select another winner.

Any information provided via the Contest page is subject to the Sponsor’s privacy policy. The names of winning Entrants will be posted publicly on the Contest Page.

10. General

  1. i. Each Entrant agrees that the decisions of the Sponsor are final with respect to all aspects of the Contest.
  2. ii. The Contest is subject to all federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.
  3. iii. Prizes shall be accepted as-is and may not be exchanged or transferred. No substitutions will be allowed.
  4. iv. Refusal by the winner to accept the Prize releases the Sponsor from any obligation toward the winner.
  5. v. If an Entrant makes any false statement, he/she/it will be automatically disqualified from the Contest.
  6. vi. The Sponsor accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest or acceptance of any Prize. The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, falsified or destroyed Entries and all such Entries are void. The Sponsor and the independent Contest organization do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of Entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
  7. vii. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or suspend the Contest or to amend the Official Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever. Without limiting the foregoing, if for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, for example as a result of tampering or infection by computer virus, the Sponsor reserves the right to terminate the Contest and conduct a random draw from all previously received Entries.
  8. viii. The Sponsor respects your right to privacy. Personal information collected from Entrants will only be used by the Sponsor and the independent Contest organization to administer the Contest and, only if consent is given at the time of registration, to contact the Entrants with information regarding award of Prizes or future engagement opportunities. If Entrants provide consent when entering the Contest, that consent relates to collection, use, and disclosure of personal information as set out in the Sponsor’s privacy policy.
